Gino Gasparini, Chairman of Board of Directors for the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce
On January 14th, 2010, Gino Gasparini, employee-owner with Recology San Mateo County, was sworn in as Chairman of Board of Directors for the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce.
One might think being Chairman of the Board is a glorified position. After all, how hard can it be when you have a well established Chamber with 66 years in existence, a dynamic CEO and support of exceptional staff? The Chamber practically runs itself, right? Not quite. Gino knows that being Chairman requires a lot of work, dedication and countless volunteer hours. He knows this, because this is his second consecutive year as Chairman, which means that when he accepted the nomination, he did so with the full knowledge of the work that lies ahead.
Gino understands that being Chairman of the Board for the Burlingame Chamber, especially in a time of economic instability, is no small task. Yet Gino accepted his duties with a smile, of course, and the promise to help increase membership, promote member to member discounts, and continue to offer great events that bring people to downtown Burlingame, like the Farmers Market and Art & Jazz Festival.
Congratulations Gino and thank you for demonstrating Recology's ongoing support of the business community.
